YIN HUA ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO

In the beginning, when a hardworking Chinese couple from India opened a restaurant, they faced many challenges in their business. They turned to other Chinese from India for support. About 8 members from the community got together and started discussing how to help this couple. During the brain storming session, they decided to form an Association first and to invite all other Chinese from India to coalesce and be there for each other, in their new lives in Canada. Thus, Yin Hua Association was formed in December 1989.

Yin Hua Association is for all Chinese from India. The majority of its members are mostly Hakka from the Kolkatta Region in India. The goal of Yin Hua was to have a place for all Chinese from India to socialize and to help each other whenever possible. With funds raised from the community they now own a unit near Finch/Midland in Scarborough.

For 3 decades now, the community has integrated into Canadian society and set down roots here. They have labored and thrived in Canada. Yin Hua members have embraced Canada’s multiculturalism and welcoming society. Its members have contributed to the Canadian economy venturing into various fields, to name a few:

ASSOCIATION YIN HUA DE L'ONTARIO

Au départ, lorsqu'un couple chinois travailleur en provenance d'Inde a ouvert un restaurant, ils ont rencontré de nombreux défis dans leur entreprise. Ils se sont tournés vers d'autres Chinois d'Inde pour obtenir du soutien. Environ 8 membres de la communauté se sont réunis et ont commencé à discuter de la manière d'aider ce couple. Au cours de la séance de remue-méninges, ils ont décidé de former d'abord une association et d'inviter tous les autres Chinois d'Inde à se regrouper et à être là les uns pour les autres, dans leur nouvelle vie au Canada. Ainsi, l'Association Yin Hua a été formée en décembre 1989.

L'Association Yin Hua est destinée à tous les Chinois d'Inde. La majorité de ses membres sont principalement des Hakka de la région de Kolkatta en Inde. L'objectif de Yin Hua était d'avoir un lieu où tous les Chinois d'Inde peuvent se socialiser et s'entraider autant que possible. Avec les fonds collectés auprès de la communauté, ils possèdent maintenant une unité près de Finch/Midland à Scarborough.

Depuis trois décennies maintenant, la communauté s'est intégrée à la société canadienne et a enraciné ses vies ici. Ils ont travaillé dur et prospéré au Canada. Les membres de Yin Hua ont embrassé le multiculturalisme canadien et la société accueillante. Ses membres ont contribué à l'économie canadienne en se lançant dans divers domaines, pour n'en citer que quelques-uns :
